Synopsis

Plot Summary
The Menace of the Atomic Changeling
Tomar- Re calls Hal Jordan away just before his date with Carol Ferris because the Green Lantern of Xudar is in trouble. Tomar-Re recently went toe to toe with a being called the Changeling and his ring was almost depleted.
Hal helps Tomar-Re recharge his ring and learns that Changeling is an alien that was trapped on Krastl, but was released when Xudarian archeologist, named Ixnal, accidently freed it. Changeling can take the form of almost anything, including living creatures, but when it takes their form they are put into a coma, and this is how Changeling gets off Krastl and back to Xudar.
Tomar-Re chases Changeling around Xudar but it escapes and goes to Earth where Tomar-Re follows and asks Hal for aide.
The pair of Green Lanterns battle Changeling but it isn't until Hal tricks Changeling into changing into a stuff tiger that Hal constructs with the ring that the pair are able to catch the alien. Tomar- Re then takes Changeling back to Krastl and Hal has to figure out what to tell Carol for missing their date.
The Elixir of Invulnerability
Hal Jordan wins a trip to Hawaii but while there scuba diving he is attacked when he finds a sunken ship full of gold. Due to the gold and a strange toxin, Hal can't use his Green Lantern Power Ring and barely survives.
When Hal wakes up in a hospital, he uses his ring to detoxify his body, recharges his ring and tracks down the goons that attacked him.
The goons work for Keith Kenyon, future villain Goldface, a criminal scientist who is stealing undersea gold, and using Ultra-Violet Light to turn the gold into an elixir of invulnerability, an elixir he drinks just before facing off against the Emerald Warrior.
Because the elixir is made of gold, Green Lantern's power ring is useless against the criminal, and Hal is forced to use Aqua Regia, a gold melting chemical on his foe. This makes the scientist powerless and Hal is able to defeat him. After turning him and his goons into the police, Hal enjoys the rest of his vacation.
